Sort of Irish Twins

Noun. Irish twin (plural Irish twins) (rare, slang, offensive) Either of a pair of siblings born less than 12 months apart, especially if born within the same calendar year or school year or born one year apart.

Gosh I feel terrible having taken such a long break. My apologies yet again. My issue, honestly, is that I’m a paper and pen kind of gal so typing from my phone, besides texting, is new for me. The laptop is too bright at night since I may have to type from the bed. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Anywho! I.L.O was 6 months old when we found out we were expecting again. His face was priceless! With I.L.O I was a grump in the 1st trimester…ok all 3 trimesters. Lol. Mostly in the first though, to be honest. Todo me molestaba (everything bothered me)! I couldn’t shake it even if I wanted to. The day I found out, I was visiting a good friend of mine. One of my best friends called and began to say how she’s BEEN calling…not true. So I told her she only called once but that I was on my way home and she said “Good, cuz I’m here”. I pulled into our driveway and my hubby comes out and I said “I must be pregnant cuz the way she called me bothered me”. He laughed and told me I was crazy. 🤷🏻‍♀️He worked security part time for a bit so he went to work that night and I went to Walmart the same night. If you read in my last post, I don’t do the whole “looking for a second line” pregnancy test. I spend a couple extra $$ to read “pregnant” or “not pregnant”. Call me bougie but waiting this long to conceive, I don’t have time to guesstimate a line. 😁

I arrived home with I.L.O attached to my hip literally cuz she couldn’t walk yet. I opted for doing the test right then and there. I placed the baby on the floor, did my business and waited⌛

……

PREGNANT!!

I looked at I.L.O and just started laughing. I kissed her and hugged her and told her she was going to be a big sister!! I was in disbelief but I accepted it faster than I expected to. So I put together a “Papi & I.L.O” slideshow through Flipagram with the background song by Usher, “Daddy’s Home” so once I hear him walk through the door I’d send it. Did I mention I ended the slideshow with the recent pregnancy test?😉Got ’em!

I had just put the baby to sleep when I heard his keys unlocking the front door. SEND! I give him a bit to respond and his response was “that was cute”. He didn’t get it y’all. 🤦🏻‍♀️So I messaged back “Did you see the pregnancy test at the end” He says, “Yea that was for I.L.O”. And I wrote back “You sure?” He walked to the door of the room so fast and stood there stuck like a deer in the headlights. He then walked over and said “No way”. Lol. He was more in shock than I was, to say the least!

______________________________________

Fast forward to today, almost 8 months since I gave birth to my baby P.A.O!!! When people say each child is different, that is the absolute truth!! I.L.O took well to the bottle and bobo (pacifier) by 2 months. P.A.O? Not quite. Hates both! Matter of fact she also dislikes car rides and being in the stroller. Anything that has to do with not being right next to me she loathes. It’s been a rough 8 months because her sister was the complete opposite! Oh, but it’s been an absolute joy watching her personality and character develop!!

Last couple of nights before laying her in her dockatot, I’ve squeezed her ever so slightly then laid her down. She won’t be little forever and her days of crying will be gone before I know it. So I’m gonna soak up every reached out hand and every attaching moment because she’s only 7months once!

I look back just a year ago to her sister’s pictures and my has she sprouted up since our move back home. My sis in law always reminds me this is only for a season!

She is completely right! If you find yourself lost, feeling stuck because your baby may not like car rides either or you feel like you just can’t get a break, don’t worry mama, I see you and I’m here to remind you too. This is only for a season!

Xoxo
